The Grand Democrats, the Northwest Valley Democrats and LD-4 are sponsoring a major Democratic Rally on September 25 at Valley Vista High School’s Performing Arts Center, 15550 N Parkview Place, in Surprise. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Dr. Mike Newcomb will serve as emcee for the event.
Speakers will include Terry Goddard for Governor, Andrei Cherny for Treasurer, Manny Cruz for State Mine Inspector, Arif Kazmi for Central AZ Water Conservation District, John Thrasher for U.S. House, Karina Guererro and Sue Dolphin for AZ House and Senate respectively, Sherry Williams for Maricopa County Clerk of the Court along with the primary election winners for U.S. Senate, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Superintendent of Public Instruction and Corporation Commission.

IMMIGRATION ISSUES - Sept. 22, 2010 |

Alfredo Gutierrez will address immigration and current issues in Arizona. He has been in the forefront of the SB1070 discussions. As a former Arizona State Senator, he’ll discuss the changes from his days in the legislature. In 2002, he ran for Governor in Arizona. Senator Gutierrez recently left his political and public affairs consulting business of Jamieson and Gutierrez.

He is one of the founders of Chicanos Por La Causa and Valle del Sol, two community advocacy organizations in Phoenix. He was the former Chairman of the Procurement Board for Arizona Works, the state’s pilot project for welfare reform.
