Precinct Committeepersons

We’re inviting Grand residents to volunteer as Precinct Committeepersons!

It doesn’t take much time, but it plays a vital role in boosting voter turnout and keeping our community engaged and informed.

What is a Precinct Committeeperson?

Think of a precinct committeeperson (PC) as the neighborhood captain for local Democrats.

PCs help neighbors register and vote, pass along information about candidates, and bring community feedback back to the party.

Precincts in The Grand

The Grand is in Legislative District 29 (aka LD29) and currently has 3 voting precincts: Grand, Granite Falls and La Solana.

The number of PCs a party may have in a given precinct is based on the number of registered voters in that precinct. Precinct boundaries can periodically change.

We have vacancies in each precinct. Please consider becoming a PC!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time will this take?

It’s flexible. Many PCs spend a few hours a month—more near elections and less in off months.

Do I need any special skills?

Just be friendly, organized, and willing to learn.  We will help with training and materials.

Which residents would I canvass or call?

We only canvass and phone bank to precinct residents that are registered as Democrats or left-leaning Independents. We do not canvass or phone bank to any registered Republicans.

Who can be a PC?

You must be a registered Democrat voter in the precinct.

What if I have questions?

We are a team! As PCs, we meet periodically with the other PCs in our district to discuss upcoming activities as well as any questions or concerns. No one is left in the dark!
